Rego Park: This pandemic and many others, such as MERS, SARS and Ebola, have been caused by eating animals. A world health crisis, economic upheaval, empty streets: We are living in a surreal reality of our own creation. Animals have long been the innocent victims of our greed, of our taste buds, and now it is coming back to haunt us. Human beings were never meant to eat animals. This nightmare scenario will happen over and over again if we don’t evolve and stop eating animals. As we keep being reminded to come together in this crisis, now is the time to show the same consideration towards the animals, which would benefit us as well. Sharon Feder
