Great emergency light at a good price. Great price and lasts all night using dim mod (Low), switch to Bright (Hi) and light up a room light daytime. lightweight easy to carry and store and the adjustable light fins make it very versatile.

  2. Assinie

Not as bright as I thought and not as wide a radius but it recharges easily and remains functional for the time indicated.

I once lived in an area where we lost electricity for 8 days because of a storm. Needless to say, since then I’ve been a big fan of solar and own several varieties of solar lights. This is the best of them all. In fact, I liked the first one well enough to order a second, then ordered two more. One lights up our entire living room. Recently our power was out for a couple of hours at a time when my cell phone was low, and I learned it charges quickly. In fact, it’s why I bought two more. It gives us one for each cell phone without worrying about how much power we might use. That, and while I had one charging before the storm, the other one was unplugged (accidentally) and not near a window, so I discovered it dead when our electricity went out. With four, it leaves plenty for charging cell phones plus extra in case I mess up again.

Great solar powered latern!! Love how bright both the flash light and the latern lights are!! Great visibility at night even with just one side turned on. Big plus is the USB port being able to charge my phone. It’s not turbo charging but it can still give my phone a charge. Would recommend to any one that doesn’t want the ordinary big bulky or heavy latern that needs batteries.UPDATE: I took it out camping with me and while it help illuminate the night time, unfortunately the battery isn’t strong enough to charge a smartphone, at least not a up to date smartphone, maybe older phones. The description makes it sounds as if it should be able to but unfortunately does now. Besides that, still neat yet strong little solar powered latern.

Love its size and handiness. I lay it on my dash during the day, at night it brightens up my camper with its bright glow I love that I can use half or full strength and since both “wings” pivot I can aim light where I need it best. I waited to see if it wpuld quit working early on, but after three months of nightly use, it is still the brightest thing I have bought in a long time.

This is an amazing little solar lantern perfect for so many uses! After recent tornadoes and loss of power, I found I needed more lighting for longer periods of time than my current small solar lantern provided. This lantern will provide adequate lighting for many hours-enough brightness to even read a book. For the price it is superior to any product I’ve purchased, and I’m ordering a second one now. I’ve found them to be a nice way to decrease electric usage as well.

It’s a neat gadget. Bright lights all around. Looks well built. My wish list would include a dimmer switch to save on battery charge. Also, I’d like to have access to the battery. I know in time the battery will fail and or leak but LEDs are supposed to last a long time. So down the road it goes into the trash. It’s a lot of plastic and this type of batteries are best to be recycled. For cheap, portable bright lighting it does well. If you care about the environment or product longevity skip this one.

I bought 2 of these Kato lanters to have on hand during power loss. They work extremely well. Love the way you can twist the panels to get a larger area of light. Solar recharging is simple – put on the window sill for a few hours and it is recharged. It can charge a cell phone but I have not used that function yet.
