The three undercover finalists on “The Masked Singer” open the show with a holiday hit.
SPOILER ALERT: The following post contains the results from Wednesday night’s Season 4 finale of “The Masked Singer,” which has yet to air on the West Coast.
Season 4 of the zany Fox series “The Masked Singer” just might have been the best-ever in terms of overall vocal talent. But all good things must come to an end and by the time Wednesday night’s two-hour season finale was over, the not-so-surprising winner was Sun, who when unmasked turned out to be …
Grammy-winning country singer LeAnn Rimes!
She beat out second-place finisher Mushroom, who is singer-songwriter Aloe Blac. Taking third place was Crocodile, who is Nick Carter.
Panelist Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg and Nicole Scherzinger correctly guessed the winner as Rimes. Ken Jeong thought it was Mandy Moore, while Robin Thicke figured it was Katharine McPhee.
Sun/Rimes was a powerhouse all season, continually wowing the panelists, and occasionally leaving them in tears. She kicked off her run with a stunning cover of Lizzo’s “Cuz I Love You” and never let up. Her surprising catalog even including a cover of the Billie Eilish hit “When the Party’s Over.”
On Wednesday’s finale, she finished things off with “The Story” by Brandi Carlile.
