“Since 1800, we’ve had, like, 10 financial panics, crises, busts — and add to that the impact of the Civil War, 9/11 and other [disasters]. And we’ve always come through better,” he said. “We’ve always managed to rethink kind of without compromising who we are as a city and the values we believe in. I suspect if we leave ourselves open to this, if we pull together, as we usually do, we’ll find new solutions and we’ll emerge stronger than ever.”
