Known for his thoughtfulness, collegiality and ability to parse a range of topics, Feinman first ran for civil court in the 1990s. In 2007, he joined the Supreme Court for the First Judicial District and, a half-decade later, Cuomo appointed him to the Appellate Division of the state Supreme Court.
