Netflix last went ahead of Disney in July 2018 while Disney and Comcast were bidding against each other to buy Fox’s assets. While Disney won that fight, and both companies will run out of new content to put on their streaming platforms eventually, Netflix’s massive lead in number of subscribers could put it ahead of Disney more the foreseeable future.
