Google employee tests positive for coronavirus, Google is restricting travel 1

A Google employee has tested positive for coronavirus. The Google employee works out of the Zurich office and was not symptomatic at the time while at work, their current condition is unknown at this time.

As a result of the Google employee testing positive, Google is now restricting employees from travelling to Japan, South Korea, Italy, and Iran.

On Friday, Google emailed all employees to inform them of the Zurich employee testing positive.

In a statement, a Google spokesperson said: “We can confirm that one employee from our Zurich office has been diagnosed with the coronavirus. They were in the Zurich office for a limited time, before they had any symptoms. We have taken — and will continue to take — all necessary precautionary measures, following the advice of public health officials, as we prioritize everyone’s health and safety.”
