WASHINGTON, DC – The Federal Bureau of Investigation Direction Christopher Wray told Fox News that the agency is “looking carefully” at the possibility that foreign actors are influencing the nationwide protests in the that we are seeing as a result of George Floyd’s in-custody death.

Director Wray further added:

“The FBI has over 2,000 active investigations that trace back to the government in China,” marking “about a 1,300 percent increase in terms of economic espionage investigations with the Chinese nexus from about a decade ago.”

Wray continued in the interview:

“We have certainly seen in the past a variety of foreign adversaries looking to amplify controversy in this country. And they use state media. They use social media. Some of that is through propaganda, some of that’s through disinformation, some of that’s through just fake information.

“And we are looking carefully at the prospect of foreign influence or foreign interference in all of the protests and activities that have occurred over the last few weeks.”

Perhaps Wray is alluding to Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election, which intelligence agencies say to expect going forward with the prevalence of social media.

Wray’s comments come in a time when thousands of Americans have taken to the streets to protest, at times violently, about the in-custody death of George Floyd.

Wray also said:

“The violence that occurred during the protest over the past few weeks is driven by a variety of different motivations and ideologies, it’s not all the work of any single ideology movement or group. We certainly have a number of active ongoing investigations into violent anarchist extremists.”

In his interview, Wray did confirm that individuals that identify with Antifa make up some of the many subjects that the FBI is currently investigating.

Antifa is a far-left political protest movement comprising autonomous groups affiliated by their militant opposition to fascism and other forms of extreme right-wing ideology.

Wray’s comments came amid a high-level push from the White House and Congress to end the destruction of statues and other monuments across the United States.

President Trump on Wednesday was determined to protect statues and historic icons as some make the call for the toppling of monuments of former presidents, historical figures seen as controversial, and even Jesus Christ.

Activists started attacking statues of Confederate figures and the movement pressed on from there.

Trump made mention that he planned on drafting an executive order by the end of the week aimed at protecting public statues and federal monuments. The president said that the toppling of monuments “is not going to happen.”

Indiana GOP Rep. Jim Banks said he will be introducing legislation that would make desecrating memorials to “previous U.S. presidents or a Founding Father” a federal offence punishable up to 10 years in prison.

The Defending America’s Culture and Heritage Act (DAHCA), would amend the Veterans’ Memorial Preservation and Recognition Act of 2003 to “include statues of former U.S. presidents and all those individuals who signed the Declaration of Independence.”

Unsurprisingly, allegations of foreign entities attempting to influence and stoke the disruption in the US have quickly followed the violence coming out of the protests.

National security adviser Robert O’Brien has pointed to Chinese social media messages gloating about the chaos. In an interview with ABC last month, he also acknowledged some Russian activists and mentioned Zimbabwe and Iran.

In the very same interview, O’Brien defended law enforcement saying that there is no “systemic racism” in the U.S. police forces but “there are a few bad apples out there, whether they’re racist or ill-trained or just vicious.”

Law Enforcement Today recently reported on Trump’s no nonsense approach to protesters attempting to tear down statues and monuments in DC.

Here’s that story again.

On Wednesday, the Trump administration activated the National Guard to protect monuments in the nation’s capital amid violent protests across the country.

According to Fox News, Interior Secretary David Bernhardt requested the action earlier this week.

This, as protesters continue to target statues and other historical markers across the country during demonstrations that have been ongoing since George Floyd’s police custody death in Minneapolis at the end of May.

Fox News reported that the Pentagon confirmed there are approximately 400 D.C. Guard members activated and on standby.

National Guard spokesman Major Robert Perino told CNN the “District of Columbia National Guard is responding to a request to support law enforcement officials and has dispatched unarmed personnel, with others on stand-by” and that “activated Guardsmen are expected to provide security for local monuments and critical infrastructure.”

Pentagon spokesperson Lt. Col. Christian Mitchell said in a statement that the Guard members “will support U.S. Park Police at key monuments to prevent any defacing or destruction.”

He further noted that they are not armed, but will serve as “uniformed deterrence” and support “crowd management capacity.”

Last Friday, a statue of Confederate leader Albert Pike was toppled by protestors near the city’s police headquarters, and an unsuccessful attempt was made to destroy a statue of President Andrew Jackson near the White House, according to New York Post.

NBC Washington reported that Trump said the people who tried to topple Jackson’s statue were “vandals,” “anarchists” and “agitators” and that “they’re bad people. They don’t love our country and they’re not taking down our monuments.”

President Trump warned activists they could face 10 years in prison under the Veterans’ Memorial Preservation Act.

Earlier in the month, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser was not happy about the presence of Guard troops in the nation’s capital.

In a June 4 letter to President Trump, Bowser requested the removal of “all extraordinary federal law enforcement and military presence from Washington, DC,”  and stated they were “inflaming demonstrators and adding to the grievances of those who, by and large, are peacefully protesting for change and for reforms to the racist and broken systems that are killing Black Americans.”

Trump retorted to Bowser in a June 5 tweet:

“The incompetent Mayor of Washington, D.C., @MayorBowser, who’s budget is totally out of control and is constantly coming back to us for ‘handouts’, is now fighting with the National Guard, who saved her from great embarrassment….”

Attorney General William Barr also responded to Bowser in a letter, saying that the presence of federal law enforcement and National Guard troops were necessary in the city because the unrest had hit unprecedented and dangerous levels in the nation’s capital, according to CNN.

At Trump’s June 20 campaign rally in Tulsa, OK, he criticized Bowser again:

“They ripped down a statue that was 110-years-old. Beautiful piece of art. In front of a police precinct with our radical left mayor watching on television. We’re not happy. That’s going to be very expensive for D.C. ‘We need more money. We always need more money’. And then they don’t do the proper job. So, it’s not gonna be good for Mayor Bowser.”

The mayor later tweeted a childish response:

“I see @AOC and I are living in his head, and apparently there’s a lot of empty room in there… just like tonight’s half empty Tulsa arena.”

Guard troops are not on the streets yet and have thus far stayed in their barracks, but they will be ready to be deployed and are expected to remain in the capital through July 4, according to CNN.

Activist demands statues of “white” Jesus be torn down, murals destroyed: “White supremacy.”

The below editorial is written by a staff writer for Law Enforcement Today.

Apparently, the Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King thinks that any statues or general depictions that showcase Jesus Christ with European features should be torn down.

This isn’t satire, he literally thinks that various depictions of Jesus Christ are a form of white supremacy.

In a post to Twitter, Shaun King stated the following:

“Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down. They are a form of white supremacy. Always have been. In the Bible, when the family of Jesus wanted to hide, and blend in, guess where they went? EGYPT! Not Denmark.”

Shaun King, who once worked as a pastor, then followed up his call to forcibly remove depictions of Christ with European features with yet another clarification:

“Yes. All murals and stained glass windows of white Jesus, and his European mother, and their white friends should also come down. They are a gross form white supremacy. Created as tools of oppression. Racist propaganda. They should all come down.”

For someone who was a pastor, he sure sullied the reason as to why Jesus Christ was taken to Egypt. As someone who is rather well versed in scripture, it had zero to do with trying to “blend in”.

What’s commonly known as the “Escape/Flight to Egypt” within the Gospel of Matthew, an angel actually spoke to Joseph in his dreams to forewarn that King Herod would seek to kill the baby Jesus. So, the angel advised Joseph to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt since Herod had no jurisdiction there.

Now aside from theological scripture, it seems as though Shaun King is attempting to rally up the populace of folks that have been toppling statues and monuments lately.  

That is a huge issue, needless to say, as he could be inciting not only riotous behavior, but also blatantly requesting specified acts of vandalism. If we’re being intellectually honest, there’s likely not a single church that is going to desecrate any depiction of Jesus.

Which can only lead to one likely conclusion – he wants vandals to enact it.

Now, Shaun King is complaining that he’s received death threats because of his call to tear down statues of Jesus Christ:

“Received about 20 death threats in the past 12 hours since I said that statues of white European Jesus are a tool of oppression for white supremacy and should be taken down. It pretty much proves my point. Your religion is actually whiteness with a Christian patina.”

First of all, I’d like to say “welcome to the club” when it pertains to death threats – I get them as well for simply being conservative and Christian.

While death threats are something that this author would never condone, I would also never create a call to action regarding engaging in vandalism.

While one could speculate that he wasn’t specifically telling miscreants to do the proverbial deed – it’s painfully obvious that his followers would be of the ilk to digest it as such.

One commenter on Twitter perfectly encapsulated why people are coming after Shaun King’s demonstrably tone-deaf call online:

“Translation- ‘I just said some really stupid unnecessary stuff about attacking one of the most protected institutions in the United States and I just don’t know why I’m being attacked for it.  I’m also not helping anything.’”

The fact of the matter is that if you recite a radical call to action, do not be surprised when you get an amalgamation of radical responses. A person cannot have their cake and it eat too, especially when the ingredients of said confection involve radicalism.

Since Shaun King was once a pastor, he should be well versed to know the scripture within Galatians Chapter 6, Verse 7:

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

Sounds like Shaun King managed to reap what he sowed.

This week, President Trump made it clear that he’s had enough.

He’s announced that anyone caught vandalizing monuments or any other federal property can be subject to arrest and face up to 10 years in prison.

His statement comes not long after an attempt to take down a statue of Andrew Jackson in Lafayette Square near the White House Monday night.

This is after a second incident targeting the nearby St. John’s Church, and prior vandalism of the Lincoln Memorial and World War II Memorial.

“I have authorized the Federal Government to arrest anyone who vandalizes or destroys any monument, statue or other such Federal property in the U.S. with up to 10 years in prison, per the Veteran’s Memorial Preservation Act, or such other laws that may be pertinent,” Trump tweeted.

“This action is taken effective immediately, but may also be used retroactively for destruction or vandalism already caused. There will be no exceptions!”

House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., weighed in on the church attack.  He called it “a chilling message that faith and freedom are enemies in the eyes of the anarchists on the street,” adding that those responsible “must be prosecuted.”

The attacks on historic monuments and statues have spread.

In many cases, they’ve become the targets of recent anger and vandalism in the riots.

In the beginning, the statues under fire were those of Confederate soldiers and generals largely in the South. 

But in recent days, it’s spread to monuments well beyond that historical period.

The Veterans’ Memorial Preservation Act that Trump cited calls for up to 10 years behind bars and a fine for anyone who damages or attempts to damage “any structure, plaque, statue, or other monument on public property commemorating the service of any person or persons in the armed forces of the United States.”

On Monday night, President Trump indicated he’ll sign an executive order meant to protect public statues and monuments in general from being damaged or destroyed.

“We are going to do an executive order and make the cities guard their monuments,” Trump told Eternal Word Television Network’s Raymond Arroyo. “This is a disgrace.”

This all comes just days after protesters in Portland, Oregon wrapped an American flag around the head of a statue of George Washington, lit it on fire, and then toppled the statue.

By the time police arrived on the scene, no one was around except a news crew; the statue was face down covered in graffiti, charred remains of the flag on the ground.

 According to KOIN 6: 

“Thursday marked the 21st day of protests in Portland sparked by the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police.

Two groups — Rose City Justice and Lavender Caucus — hosted a sit-in rally at Jefferson High School in the evening where community members shared their experiences with racism to a crowd of a few hundred.

The group did not hold a march.

A separate group of about 20 people met at NE Sandy Boulevard and NE 57th Avenue around 10 p.m. at the site of a large bronze statue of George Washington. Some wrapped the statue’s head in an American flag and lit the flag on fire.

Their numbers grew over the next hour until there were enough people to pull the statue to the ground. They quickly scattered. A KOIN 6 News crew found the statue face down and covered in graffiti. Portland police arrived a short time later.”

The monument and its base were covered in spray-painted text such as: “Murder,” “Big Floyd,” “F— Cops,” “BLM,” “Damn white men” and “White fragility.” 

A self-proclaimed “citizen journalist” posted the video to Twitter, using multiple hashtags, to include ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards).

So much for unbiased reporting. And before you think it was an isolated tweet…here are a few more from the Portland news anchor. 

What does not show in these images, are the BLM fist logos that Dowling and other KOIN reporters have intertwined in their hashtags.

Now, back to statues. 

Breitbart reports: 

“On Sunday, a statue of Thomas Jefferson, the United States’ third president and author of the Declaration of Independence, was defaced and torn down outside a Portland high school.
Photos obtained by Oregon Live show the base of the monument was spray-painted in black with ‘slave owner’ and ‘George Floyd.’

The statue, which was situated in front of Jefferson High School, was yanked down following a protest against police brutality organized by Rose City Justice.

‘There’s an interesting piece of history up here… Mr. Thomas is all beside himself,’ one protester said of the statue being toppled.

‘We’re taking this city back,’ the organizer added. ‘One school at a time. One racist statue at a time.’”

Statues commemorating and memorializing our founding fathers are not the only things being vandalized as part of the “peaceful” protests that supposedly seek love and tolerance. 

Police in the city of Dover have arrested a 42-year-old suspect they allege to be responsible for vandalizing the Delaware Law Enforcement Memorial. What led to this suspect’s arrest, according to police, was a misplaced cell phone left at the scene of the memorial.

Authorities have charged Kyle Bullock for the damage sustained by the Delaware Law Enforcement Memorial on June 12, after locals reported seeing someone hitting the memorial with a sledgehammer in the early morning hours.

The Dover Police Department had gotten the call about the vandalism at approximately 5:35 a.m. on the 12th, but when police arrived at the scene, there was no suspect initially found.

The memorial, which portrayed a kneeling officer, was shown to have sustained severe damage to the portion of the officer’s neck.

At the scene, police also found a discarded axe and two Delaware state flags that had been allegedly urinated on.

But there was more at the scene than just the axe and desecrated state flags – police also found a cell phone.

Bullock had shown up to the scene of the vandalized memorial while officers were investigating the damage and told police that he’d lost his cell phone while participating during a protest sometime earlier and was seeing if police had seen one lying around.

Authorities say that video evidence obtained later on during the investigation showed the person in search of his cell phone happened to also be the vandal they were looking for.

Police were said to have quickly obtained a warrant for Bullock’s arrest, and took him into custody at his residence during the evening of the 12th.

Bullock was arrested for felony criminal mischief resulting in damage over $5,000 and was held on a cash bond of $5,100.  

This anti-cop sentiment has been widespread, and even managed to make it’s way into the great state of Texas. 

There’s been a myriad of instances of vandalism and graffiti that have cropped up during the protests that swept throughout the country.

But one vandalism case depicting a police officer hanging from a noose found on the side of a Houston tattoo shop is very telling of the sentiments of some of these vandals among the protesters.

The disturbing mural was said to be found along the side of the building of 290 Ink in Houston. Apparently, the owner of the tattoo parlor had painted over the alarming depiction of violence upon discovering the graffiti.

Houston Police Officers’ Union President Joe Gamaldi had a picture of the vandalism, and posted said image to Facebook with the following caption:

“We are better than this Houston. Also, the dirtbag who painted this didn’t even get our uniform shirt right.”

On the post, Gamaldi further noted that while portions of the population are emotional at this time, showcasing images of killing police officers does not meaningfully contribute to the national dialogoue:

“We realize emotions are running high, but this solves nothing and helps nothing. We are very thankful to the owner of this property, who after discovering this hateful graffiti, painted over it immediately. This image does not represent the view of 99.99% of Americans and we will not let hate run our city. We are #HoustonStrong.”

The police union president also mentioned within the post that if anyone has insight as to who might have painted the abhorrent depiction, to please reach out to their Facebook page via Messenger.
