The Tennessee Titans have taken an important step in resuming their season following a coronavirus outbreak that landed 10 players on their COVID-19 reserve list last week.
The Titans had zero positive tests Monday morning, a source told the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who called it “a big step toward opening their facility and playing football.”
Tennessee’s scheduled game Sunday against Pittsburgh was postponed to Week 7 on Oct. 25, with the Steelers’ game on that date against the Baltimore Ravens shifted until the following week, Nov. 1. The Titans are scheduled to play the Bills this Sunday.
“Tennessee would need two consecutive days, at least, of all clear to reopen their facility. So all eyes on (Tuesday),” Rapoport tweeted.
Sunday’s game between New England and Kansas City also was postponed until Monday after Patriots quarterback Cam Newton and Chiefs practice-squad QB Jordan Ta’amu tested positive last week for COVID-19.
Rapoport reported that both teams were “all clear” after being retested Sunday night, and the Patriots were traveling to Kansas City on Monday morning, with the game “on as scheduled” for 7:05 p.m.
