Tiffany & Co., AG Jeans each donate $1M for coronavirus relief 1

American fashion giants continue to make dazzling donations toward coronavirus relief.

Tiffany & Co. and AG Jeans are the latest brands to announce that they will each commit $1 million to organizations battling COVID-19.

“During this global health crisis, we must all be responsive to the urgent needs of our global communities,” Anisa Kamadoli Costa, chairman and president of the Tiffany & Co. Foundation said Monday in a statement. “We are proud to support organizations providing immediate relief for communities impacted by COVID-19, including our hometown of New York.”

Along with matching any employee donations to nonprofit organizations, the jeweler will give $750,000 to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization, overseen by the UN Foundation, along with an additional $250,000 to The New York Community Trust’s NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles-based AG Jeans announced that it will give $1 million to the COVID-19 LA County Response Fund, which will provide support to hospitals and clinics across the county as well as aid in the rollout of coronavirus testing.

In addition, the brand has promised to keep sending paychecks and benefits to its more than 2,000 factory and retail employees through the month of April.

“We stand together as a community to endure, support and heal one another,” the popular denim brand said in a company statement.

Last week the founders of Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo and Versace — along with their parent company, Capri Holdings Limited — donated a combined $3 million to the coronavirus fight.
