BURLINGAME — A big office and retail complex is slated to sprout next to a shuttered post office in downtown Burlingame, a project that could refresh the Peninsula city’s central business district.
The project would total 185,000 square feet and be built next to the former U.S. Postal Service office at 220 Park Road in downtown Burlingame.
A joint venture of Sares Regis Group of Northern California and Dostart Development Company intends to begin construction on the project during the July-September third quarter of this year.
The developers expect to complete the project, which has been approved by the Burlingame City Council, by sometime in 2023.
“We’re excited to receive final approval from the Burlingame City Council so we may activate this area of downtown,” said David Hopkins, chief operating officer of Sares Regis Group of Northern California.
