Nearly a quarter-million doses of COVID-19 vaccine went into New Yorkers’ arms in the last day — a new statewide record, Gov. Cuomo announced Saturday morning.
The 249,541 shots pushes the state-wide total to 10,174,773 jabs so far, with nearly one-third of New Yorkers having received at least one dose.
Twenty percent have completed the vaccination series, the governor said.
Meanwhile, the state’s coronavirus positivity rate was 3.12 percent Friday, up slightly from the previous day, with 7,846 of the 251,210 tests reported coming back positive, Cuomo said.
Friday’s statewide rate, when measured on a seven-day average, was 3.59 percent and 4.34 percent in New York City.
Statewide, 4,491 patients were hospitalized with the bug Friday, a small decline from the day before.
There were 60 COVID-19 deaths Friday including 36 among New York City residents.
