Man arrested after police say he vandalized a Police
Officers Memorial Monument 1

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – It can only be described as a disgusting and spineless move.

The North Brunswick Police Department notified the public via a Facebook post this Wednesday, September 30, that a suspect has been found in the recent vandalization of the Police Officers Memorial Monument.

The monument is in memory of fallen and deceased North Brunswick police officers.

Damage to the monument was first discovered on September 16. It was apparent that the damage was purposeful because all of the electrical lighting for the monument had been “stomped” and damaged.

The cost of repairs is expected to be a few thousand dollars.

An investigation led to the identification and apprehension of 21 year-old Edwin Marroquin of New Brunswick.

Several charges have been filed against him.

The police department carefully notes that “All arrestees are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in court.”

It is too bad the same standard isn’t used for police officers themselves, who are too often not given the presumption of innocence, from the moment a misleading youTube video is posted on the Internet.

Far from waiting for a court verdict, the media and public have passed judgment on these cases, and always against the police officer, before an investigation has taken place, before many facts are known, and sometimes without knowing any more beyond the fact that a police officer was involved and a suspect was injured or killed.

At the police monument, officers who have died in the line of duty are remembered by their loved ones, colleagues, and the community they served.

Respect is owed to these men and women whose bravery and dedication led them to do what so many cannot, or will not: they gave themselves to protect others.

And then some arrogant smart aleck gets the idea that he has the moral authority to traduce the memory of those officers by vandalizing the monument.

To their credit, most of the people who commented on the North Brunswick PD’s post were sympathetic to the police department. They were outraged by the miscreant who damaged the monument.

Gary Ewald wrote:

“Make him scrub EVERY MONUMENT IN TOWN!”

Christine Anne commented:

“Terrible news to hear someone purposely damaged the beautiful memorial.”

Other comments ranged from single-word epithets, “Animal”, “Deplorable”, and “Horrible”, to suggestions for punishment, “Turd! Send him down here to Florida so I can give him his just desserts.”

“What’s wrong with this picture? Make that scum pay for it.”

Some, however, sympathized with the vandal. One user attempted to excuse the vandal by pointing out that (according to him) [North Brunswick cops] “are super racist.”

Another piles on with, “it’s false to YOU because YOU as a white person don’t experience cops pulling you over for no reason.”

One fellow offers to pay Marroquin’s bail.

Others mock police supporters as “racists” and “Trump supporters”.

The bottom line is that too often, our police are not given the respect and thanks they deserve. Many people do support the police but thanks to violent and abusive intimidation tactics used by leftist anarchists, it is difficult to show that support without exposing oneself to harm.

It shouldn’t be this way. It wouldn’t be this way if elected officials allowed the police to do their job. While district attorneys are releasing criminals captured by the police en masse, mayors are ordering police to arrest homeowners for defending their property.

Considering what police officers have to put up with on a day to day basis, the least anyone can do is keep a respectful distance from their memorial and allow them to mourn their fallen in peace.

It isn’t happening. The reason, obvious to anyone who bothers to look, is a media that projects and exaggerates lies to the public, for the obvious purpose of inflaming their passions against law and order.

It’s about time our lawmakers look long and hard at finding a way to make the press accountable for the dangerous slanders they publish daily.

Allowing them to remain free of taint or punishment because they are the press, is not much different from punishing murderers but not the client who hired them. The press has unjustly and falsely accused the police of America of “systemic racism”.

They have used that charge to justify destructive protests and riots that have caused incalculable damage in lives and property. Even to such things as a police monument in a small town like North Brunswick, New Jersey. It is time to end the hate.

Stop the press and correct the lies before it is too late.

Add another guy to the list of dumb criminals vandalizing fallen officer memorials:

VISALIA, CA – A highway sign honoring two fallen Tulare County law enforcement officers was vandalized on Wednesday, September 30.

The suspect tagged the sign in black spray paint with a hateful message to the sheriff’s office and apparently included his own nickname.

Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said he was “disgusted and disheartened” in a post to the sheriff’s department’s official Facebook page on Sept. 30 after the damage was discovered.

The Sheriff posted his thoughts on the page-

“To the person who spray painted hateful, anti-police rhetoric on the highway sign dedicated to the memory of our fallen deputy and pilot, you DID NOT accomplish what you think you did,”

“Despite your hate, the men and women of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office will continue to protect and serve EVERYONE who needs them just like Deputy Scott Ballantyne and Pilot James Chavez were doing the day they died in the line of duty.”

The sign is a memorial for Tulare County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Ballantyne and Sheriff’s Pilot James Chavez who were killed in a fatal plane crash after helping deputies on the ground look for a suspect brandishing a firearm near Lake Success on Feb. 10, 2016.

According to the Officer Down Memorial Page, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office has had a total of 14 line of duty deaths.

The Facebook post went on to say:

“We can only hope the families of Deputy Ballantyne and Pilot Chavez didn’t drive by and witness this disgraceful disregard for the lives of their loved ones.”

Three years after the heroes were killed in the line of duty, a section of Highway 90 was dedicated to them and renamed the “Deputy Scott Ballantyne and Pilot James Chavez Memorial Highway.”

Sheriff Boudreaux called the vandalism of the memorial sign “an act of cowards.”

Fallen officer memorial signs are often installed along areas of highways or bridges where officers are killed in the line of duty to honor the officers sacrifice and to remind others of the sacrifice that was made for the community they served.

Deputies investigated the graffiti and were able to quickly identify the vandal, according to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page.

On Thursday, Tulare County sheriff’s deputies arrested 22-year-old Devon Young of Porterville.

“Yesterday, we told you about the disgraceful damage done to the highway dedication sign honoring fallen TCSO Deputy Scott Ballantyne and Sheriff’s Pilot James Chavez. The sign bearing their name and memory was cowardly vandalized with anti-police hate speech,”

The department posted on Facebook.

“Today, however, we’re happy to report the person who did this won’t be destroying more property any time soon, 22-year-old Devon Young of Porterville was arrested this afternoon, after TCSO Deputies linked him to the crime.”

According to authorities, Young also tagged the sign with his nickname, which was instrumental in helping Deputies identify him.

Authorities shared a photo of Young with a tattoo with his nickname “Reckless” across his chest.

The sheriff’s department said in their Facebook post that Young was out of prison on parole for robbery at the time of the vandalism.

According to the authorities, he was in violation of his parole on October 1, and taken into custody,

Police also searched Young’s home and found physical evidence linking the suspect to the desecration of the memorial sign.

Young is facing vandalism charges.

Help find a man for accused of burglarizing a Ronald McDonald House

DALLAS, TX – Dallas Police Department are asking for help in identifying and finding the man responsible for breaking into a Ronald McDonald House in Texas.

On September 15th, Dallas Police Department reports that unknown man jumped over a perimeter fence that surrounding the non-profit business.

Once inside, the man went through the house, stealing a television, food, and bed linens.  The man then fled with the items that were intended for the families who truly needed them.

It is truly sad that someone would do something that is so insanely low.

After all, how can you get lower than from stealing from a charity that caters to kids and their families?  Hopefully, the community steps up and identifies him soon so that he can be taken into custody to answer for the crime.

The Ronald McDonald House is a charity that runs through donations and provides a place for family members of sick children to stay so they can be close while their child receives medical attention.  According to the Dallas website:

“[The charity works at] Keeping families together, inspiring strength, and giving love and support to families whose children are receiving essential care…

“In an effort to lessen the burden, reduce stress, keep the family intact, and enhance the quality of life for these families, RMHD provides temporary housing in a caring home-like atmosphere.  Ronald McDonald House program was built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay.”

While crime is thankfully low at the charities throughout the United States, there are times like this and one in Chicago where they have been victims.  There are other times in which the charity has been evacuated, not for a hurricane or some other type of natural disaster, but in this case because of a Grand Jury decision.

On September 23rd, the Ronald McDonald House in Louisville was forced to evacuate sick children and their families because of the possibility of riots and looting before the Grand Jury Decision was announced in the Breonna Taylor Case.  A statement from the charity said:

“The safety and security of our staff and the families we serve is always our top priority at the Ronald McDonald House.  With the growing uncertainty in the downtown area and potential for operational challenges, we have relocated families currently staying with us to a nearby hotel.

“We look forward to welcoming these families back as soon as possible.  In the meantime, security personnel are in place to ensure the safety of the facility.”

Protesters did take to the streets when the Grand Jury decision was announced that stated the two officers who directly caused Taylor’s house would not face any criminal charges.

This is of course because they found, after reviewing all of the evidence and witnesses’ statements that the officers fired their weapons in self-defense after one of them had been shot by Taylor’s boyfriend.

However, the protests tended to remain in the downtown areas and away from places like this charity.  As a result, thankfully, there were no reported incidents of any criminal activities in or around this Ronald McDonald House.

But it is sad that they even had to consider the possibility.  Families that utilize these charities have enough to worry about, they should never have to be concerned with being safe.
