Liberty student sues school for ‘profiting off the COVID-19 pandemic’ 1

The class action suit joins similar ones at schools including Drexel and Miami (Florida), alleging that tuition prices and other costs don’t accurately reflect the services that students are now receiving during the pandemic. Liberty, despite causing controversy when its president, Jerry Falwell Jr., said that people were “overreacting” to the pandemic last month, has nevertheless moved all its classes online, shut down its rec centers, canceled all student activities, and made all dining options take-out only.
