Live music is in a weird place right now because it isn’t live, yet people need what artists are making. DNice, a Los Angeles-based DJ, has been hosting virtual dance parties on Instagram Live. In isolation, there is a renewed hunger for connection, to experience something with other people, even if those other people aren’t really there. Livestreams are booming, even if, as Steiner notes, they do all start to feel the same.
