Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November every year. In 2021, the holiday falls on November 25.
As it is a federal holiday, many government offices are closed, while some private businesses may also be shut on the day.
But does this include the U.S. Postal Service (USPS)?
Here, we look at the 2021 Thanksgiving Day hours for the USPS and courier services.
U.S. Postal Service
The USPS is closed for Thanksgiving. Normal hours of operation vary by branch. See the store locator at the USPS website for the opening and closing times for your nearest post office.
USPS branches are also closed during the following federal holidays:

Most FedEx services are closed on Thanksgiving, with the exception of the FedEx Custom Critical service, which is open on November 25.
Via the FedEx Trade Networks service, customs clearance at U.S.-Canada land-border crossings is available 24 hours a day, every day, subject to the availability of Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Customers are advised to contact their FedEx Trade Networks representative for information on the availability of customs clearance at U.S.-Mexico land-border crossings.
