The Bay Area is on Day 24 of being sheltered in place due to the spread of the coronavirus.
Thursday morning’s big news is new unemployment numbers, which show 6.6 million Americans filed for jobless benefits last week. More than 925,000 of them were Californians, according to the U.S. Labor Department.
That makes about 2.17 million total unemployment claims in California over the last three weeks.
