Coping during COVID-19: Pandemic reinforces we’re all in
this together 1

We asked readers to tell us how they’re coping during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, we bring you some of the responses. We will publish more in the days ahead. To read all of the Coping series, click here.

There are two voices chattering in my head.

One says, “This isolation is great! It was getting too frantic out there. And I can work on creative projects and, anyway, it’s not so different from my usual retired homebody life.”

The other voice says, “Wait a minute! There are people dying, people suffering financially, and other people working hard at risk to their own health.”

The pandemic has pulled some families closer and broken others, but on the bright side, the natural world has benefited from the slow down. Our government has stepped up with financial aid. Funny how some of the wild ideas like universal income and health care for all are seeing a bit of play.

If nothing else, the pandemic has reinforced that, though apart, we are all in this together.
