It’s not all boredom and bad food inside Australian Open quarantine.
American star Coco Gauff turned her hotel room into a makeshift practice court by propping her mattress against the wall.
Gauff, who reached the fourth round of last year’s Australian Open, is one of many players forced into quarantine over COVID-19 contact tracing before the season’s first grand slam begins on Feb. 8.

Several of the chartered flights carrying players, their teams and other event staff included those who tested positive for COVID-19. Any player on those flights were forced to quarantine inside for two weeks. While other players are allowed outside for five hours a day, including practice time.
This has led to an outpouring of frustration with the players who are stuck inside full time.
