Snapchat video recorded by a student at Oxford High School in Oakland, Michigan appears to show a gunman attempting to gain entry to a classroom while posing as a sheriff’s deputy. A shooting at the high school left three dead and eight others wounded when an unidentified 15-year-old gunman opened fire with a handgun.
“Sherrif’s office, it’s safe to come out;” the suspected shooter can be heard yelling from the other side of the door. A teacher had barred the door while a handful of students stood by the entrance in order to keep it closed. “We’re not willing to take that risk right now,” a student replied.
“Ok well come to the door and look at my badge bro,” the gunman can then be heard saying. After picking up on the ruse from the word “bro,” students began to pile out of the classroom through an open window.

Police took an unidentified 15-year-old male into custody following the shooting. The suspect, who was a sophomore at the high school, has reportedly been uncooperative with law enforcement and has not answered any questions. The accused shooter allegedly posted several violent threats and a picture of a semi-automatic handgun on a now-deleted Instagram account.

“Now I become death – destroyer of worlds – see you tomorrow Oxford,” he reportedly wrote on Instagram, according to Fox 2 Detroit. Authorities have not yet commented on the alleged posts but have promised a thorough analysis of the shooter’s social media posts.
According to officials, the suspect’s father bought the 9mm Sig Sauer SP 2022 pistol used in the shooting on Black Friday. “It’s my understanding, again, that this was a recent weapon purchase,” Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said Tuesday night.
Police also conducted a raid at the suspect’s home and seized several long guns. “He had been shooting with it and posted pictures of a target and the weapon. That’s all part of what’s being looked at. We’re going to do a deep dive on the social media and all the activities of this young man,” Bouchard added.
The suspect had at least two 15-round magazines, including one with seven remaining bullets, when he was arrested, the sheriff said. “When they took it from him, he had a loaded firearm. He was coming down the hall. That again, I believe, interrupted what potentially could have been seven more victims,” Bouchard told the Detroit Free Press.
