It’s not a sloppy reboot — maybe because it never could be. From the mall to the hangar (my favorite level in THPS2), every single level gets a potent new coat of paint and feels modern and lively. Activision pushes to make this game feel like new, and it shores up the issues, albeit minor, that held the game back two decades ago. Every so often, you’d get stuck in a wall or a loop back then, or the polygons would remind you that they were, well, polygons. That doesn’t happen in this redone version, never comes close to happening.
