“It creates confusion and even complacency, and unfortunately it actually means that people take risks. If they don’t know exactly who’s right or wrong, then they may make a decision to take a risk, and from a health standpoint, that is a terrible way to make decisions — terrible,” Shah said. “What it does is at the end of the day, we’ve now increased transmission and exposure and that cooks upon each other, and the next thing you know you have increases in cases.”
