Spain’s coronavirus death toll soared to 25,100 Saturday as fitness buffs and kids ventured outside for the first time in nearly two months.

The new death total includes 276 Spaniards who died Friday, health officials said. The number for confirmed cases rose to 216,582, from 215,216.

Spain’s government, however, decided to ease lockdown restrictions because the peak of the outbreak — one of the worst in the world — appears to be over.

After 50 days of being inside, residents are now allowed to be outdoors during certain times of the day, the Guardian reported.

Adults can exercise from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Children can play outside from noon until 7 p.m. Senior citizens and those who need assistance can be out from 10 a.m. until noon and from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
