San Diego police release bodycam footage in officer-involved
shooting of screaming, violent suspect 1

SAN DIEGO, CA – The San Diego Police Department just released body camera footage of an officer involved fatal shooting on Oct. 19.

Officers were initially dispatched to the home on South Pardee Street regarding a violent disturbance by a man identified as Jose Alfredo Castro-Gutierrez, who was running around the home with a metal curtain rod before 4:30 a.m.

Officers were notified that Gutierrez was smashing windows and other objects in the home.

Callers reported that Gutierrez was a guest in the home and began acting paranoid to the point that the resident’s teenaged daughter was in fear, locking herself in a room to hide.

On 911, the resident reports the incident and states that she, her husband and her teenaged daughter are still inside.

During the call, you can hear a man, unknown if it is the caller’s husband of Gutierrez, yelling for help.

Although the video has been blocked, screaming can be heard in the background of the 911 call, while police respond to the scene.  The 911 caller is trying to find a way for the people inside to get out, but the caller believes that the teenager is safer in the house, as opposed to trying to get past Gutierrez.

The caller tells 911 that she believes Gutierrez is on “drugs.”  Another caller to 911 reported they could hear a man screaming for help in a way that sounded like someone was being tortured.

Lieutenant Matt Dobbs of the San Diego Police Department said:

“The residents described the man’s behavior as paranoid and said he ripped a metal curtain rod from the window and began breaking windows and other objects around the home…

A neighbor also heard the commotion and called 911, reporting [that] it sounded like someone was being tortured.”

On the body worn cameras, officers are heard asking what the name of the person causing the problem is, while putting their gloves on and making their approach to the residence.  An officer calls out for Gutierrez and there is no reply.

Another officer, calls out for him in Spanish and immediately afterward a sound, like breaking glass is heard.

Yelling follows, presumably by Gutierrez, who stands up and becomes visible in one of the body cameras. Gutierrez begins yelling unintelligently and can be seen brandishing the large curtain rod in his hand.

Officers, who have already identified themselves several times as police, order him to “drop it.” Instead, the man refuses and busts out of the front fence gate and continues yelling as he charges toward officers.

One officer with a bean bag round fired. Another officer fired a Taser. The officer who was being charged at by Gutierrez, who had the long curtain rod raised in the air as if he were going to bash the officer in the head, opened fire, shooting twice.

Gutierrez immediately fell to the ground. Officers are seen rendering medical aid to him and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Gutierrez would later succumb to his injuries while in the hospital.

Officer Isai Castillo, who fired the lethal weapon, will be suspended with pay as per protocol, until the conclusion of the investigation.

The case will be reviewed by the San Diego District Attorney’s Office, who will determine if the officers acted in self defense, or if any criminal charges should be filed.

The San Diego Police Department Internal Affairs Unit will conduct a separate investigation, most likely after the District Attorney concludes theirs, to determine if officers committed any policy violations.

Cane-wielding ‘peaceful protester’ strikes San Diego officer on head, causes concussion during violent protest

August 27, 2020

SAN DIEGO, CA – On Aug. 24, even California cities like San Diego played host to violent protests over the officer-involved shooting in Kenosha, WI.

During one such “peaceful” demonstration, a San Diego Police officer suffered a concussion after being struck in the head by an object wielded by one of the protesters.

The person alleged to have injured the officer by striking him in the head with a cane is 19-year-old Joseph Austin Gaskins. Gaskins has since been arrested and is facing charges of assault, resisting an officer, and possession of a dirk or dagger.

As of this time, the officer injured has not yet been named. According to reports, the officer has been released from the hospital and is currently on temporary medical leave while recovering.

Reportedly, several other officers were assaulted during the violent protest. An estimated 50 to 55 people gathered outside the SDPD headquarters building to protest the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, WI.

At one point, police say that those who’d gathered blocked the exit of the building’s parking lot and ignored orders to disperse the area. The officer who suffered a concussion was said to have been clearing out the area when he was attacked by Gaskins.

By the evening of Aug. 24, the crowd size had increased to roughly 100 people after moving toward the intersection of Broadway and 14th Street. By 11 p.m., the protest had reportedly fizzled out and people left the area.

There were reportedly two other arrests during the protest, but police sources have not yet revealed the identities of those arrested or the charges.

As bizarre as it may seem for people in California to assemble, scream at and assault police officers regarding an incident that took place in Wisconsin, over 2,000 miles away, this is becoming pretty common. I guess one might even say this is the “new normal,” since that phrase was tossed around when pandemic-hysteria was in full swing.

Take Minnesota, for example.

On the morning of Aug. 25, reportedly 11 people were arrested in Minneapolis after acts of vandalism and destruction took place as roughly 100 people gathered outside the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center to protest the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, WI.

Hennepin County Sheriff Dave Hutchinson stated that while peaceful demonstrations are allowed, rioting will not be tolerated and malefactors will get arrested if they engage in any form of destruction.

He said:

“We fully support peaceful protests, but we cannot – and will not – allow demonstrators to destroy property or jeopardize the safety and security of our inmates, our deputies and our jail.”

One officer, speaking on the condition of anonymity to Law Enforcement Today, explained what was happening:

“These rioters told us it was ‘high time’ for all inmates to be released, and that they planned on making that happen.”

Blake’s shooting has sparked controversy, with many news media outlets reporting that he was “unarmed” when he was shot by police. However, that allegation made by media outlets hasn’t been confirmed as of yet.

In fact, one or more witnesses reportedly heard officers tell Blake, “Drop the knife!”

Even though the Blake case took place in Wisconsin, people in Minnesota are protesting. Protesting something that happened in a different state seems to be the trendy thing to do, even if it’s not grounded in any logic whatsoever.

As for the protesters arrested in Minneapolis, Hutchinson stated that the charges range from rioting and unlawful assembly to criminal damage. Officials stated that the group of rioters attempted to breach jail security and broke windows.

One Minneapolis officer was reportedly injured during the riot, having suffered a broken hand during an incident involving rioters.

Who knows, maybe the violent protests stemming from Wisconsin could be coming to a city near you … if they haven’t already.

Molotov cocktails launched at Seattle Police union building – anarchists suggest police need to ‘get over it’

SEATTLE, WA – Even though Kenosha has been the hotspot as of late regarding riots, it doesn’t mean areas like Seattle, WA have calmed down.

On Aug. 24, the Seattle Police Officers Guild office building was attacked with Molotov cocktails, with security cameras catching the video of the incendiary device spreading the flames.

KTTH Radio host Jason Rantz described the arson attack as being perpetrated by “criminal activists” on Twitter.

Now, there seems to be a perfect word that accurately describes “criminal activists.” Considering that an activist aims for “political or social change and takes part in activities such as public protests” and that a criminal is…well, a criminal; perhaps the word he was looing for was “terrorists.”

You know, someone who engages in violent action, or the threat of, for political purposes.

According to the captured footage of the incident, two suspects approached the building at approximately 10:59 p.m. on Aug. 24 while clad in dark clothing. The two suspects appear to converse with each other briefly, before throwing Molotov cocktails at the side of the building.

The fire burned for approximately two minutes before police arrived and extinguished the fire. At the time of the incident, there was no one inside the building.

SPOG President Officer Mike Solan seems to think of the act as “domestic terrorism,” saying that this was an effort to “kill police officers.”

He said:

“What’s shown in the SPOG videos are two criminal actors determined to kill police officers by using Molotov cocktails to destroy private property that could possibly have people inside working.”

Officer Solan noted that the criminal element present within these types of violent malefactors shows their blatant disregard for others’ lives:

“These people have no fear. They do not adhere to law and order. They could care less about the human beings that could possibly be hurt or killed by their criminal, domestic terrorism actions.”

The SPOG president wants elected officials to address the attack launched against the building.

He said:

“I’ve called on our elected officials to profoundly condemn these domestic terrorist’s actions, whom are hurting our community.”

In an unsurprising turn, those who adore the anarchy enacted by these types of folks are acting as though trying to burn down a building is no big deal.

Alycia Ramirez, who considers herself an online activist, had the following to say about incidents like this attack on the SPOG building, specifically commenting on an SPD precinct building being targeted by an arson attack the same evening.

Ramirez said:

“Let’s not forget that precinct and most others have multiple exits. So where is the proof that their intent was [to burn] officers alive?  Or is this just more fantastical reporting from you?”

It’s a common tactic for these Twitter users who adore the violence brought by their comrades in the streets to act as though every attack is a conspiracy theory or not a big deal.

Basically, what these efforts are is an attempt to gaslight people.

While Ramirez is among those who act as though crimes caught on camera are being sensationalized, she was also sending out calls to not film any possible crimes that rioters commit.

Also, it is with little surprise that days before the arson attack against the SPOG building on Aug. 24, Ramirez was spreading anti-police sentiments online and directly mentioning SPOG and its president, Officer Solan.

This is the anti-police rhetoric that our men and women in blue are faced up against.

People that clearly hold a severe disdain for policing, pretend that what they’re doing is “activism” and when things turn criminal, act as though you’re crazy for thinking the actions are criminal.

Seattle officers attacked with commercial grade explosive shells: ‘People don’t realize we’re in a war’

While some peaceful protest groups in Seattle have filtered out many of the violent activists and rioters, Seattle Police Officer Adam Fowler explained the more violent combatants continue to reign terror on the community.

Nearly three months after protests first began in Seattle, Fowler believes a separate group of 50 to 200 vicious and violent activists are not there to protest. Instead, the lawbreakers just want to “damage … something.”

Fowler said:

Those people are very violent, very destructive. They are ruining things. They want to harm businesses, harm things in Seattle.”

Fowler added that this group blames their illegal and divisive actions on law enforcement professionals.

Fowler continued:

“They want to harm us [police], and quickly try to turn the story on us like we have created something bad. They are going out and seeking us out every night to try to cause these issues.”

Fowler has experienced firsthand the physical injuries caused to law enforcement, as three weeks ago he was one of a law enforcement group who arrested 18 unruly fighters. Unfortunately, he was also one of three officers that night who were injured.

According to hotair.com, Fowler was rushed to the hospital after a mortar went off near his eye.

In an interview with local station KING, Fowler described the moment he was hit by the illegal explosive, before help arrived:

“The only thing I could see was a bright flash and then a loud bang and what felt like a hammer hitting me in the face… I lost my vision momentarily … probably anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute. My first initial thought was ‘I’m going to lose my left eye.”

The mortar had been launched behind Fowler and when the explosive detonated, it hit the officer in the back. When he turned back toward his patrol bicycle, another explosive ignited, causing damage to his eye socket.

The mortar shells fired by the assaulting crowd are not merely firecrackers. Instead, they are commercial grade explosive devices using a mortar, or a portable, muzzle-loaded weapon consisting of a tube that launches explosive shells, or technically, bombs, in “high-arcing ballistic trajectories.”

The explosives that go into the tubes, the “bombs,” require a license to buy and detonate. They are commercial-grade explosives that must be configured by a licensed professional, in a display that many patriots might view with their families at a local park on the Fourth of July.

Seattle combatants are not alone in their ongoing assault on law enforcement officers. As stories are published across the country, from Chicago’s July 17th ambush of police in an attack that left 49 officers injured to police cars set afire in Minneapolis, Washington DC and Boston, to a slashed officer’s neck in Jacksonville, FL, out-of-control rioting lawbreakers continue to target the police.
