Tackle Trent Brown was designated as inactive Sunday and will not face the Cleveland Browns after feeling ill, according to the Raiders.

Brown was under quarantine for nine days and missed last week’s 45-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after testing positive for coronavirus following the bye week.

Other inactive players for the Raiders are quarterback Marcus Mariota, defensive end Arden Key, wide receiver Rico Gafford, safety Dallin Leavitt and wide receivers Bryan Edwards and Rico Gafford.

Counting games in which he played six and four snaps before departing, Brown has been unavailable 12 times in 23 games since signing a four-year contract worth a maximum of $66 million.

Mariota, on the books for $7.5 million this season and a salary cap figure of more than $9 million, is not deemed by coach Jon Gruden at this point to be a better option than Nathan Peterman, who will back up starting quarterback Derek Carr. Mariota was also inactive against Tampa Bay after coming off injured reserve for a pectoral injury.
