Member of Nuggets organization tests positive for COVID-19, team announces 1

The Denver Nuggets announced that a member of their organization tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

A Nuggets spokesperson wouldn’t say whether the person was a player or not. As of Thursday, no one else in the organization planned to get tested, player or otherwise, unless they felt symptoms, according to a source.

The person was tested March 16 after experiencing symptoms consistent with the virus and is currently being cared for by the team’s medical staff and is in self-isolation, according to a news release from the team.

“The testing was undertaken following guidance from state public health officials and team physicians,” the release stated.

The team didn’t procure the test though private means, according to a league source.

Prior to Thursday, seven NBA players had tested positive for coronavirus, including Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell and Kevin Durant. The Nuggets’ last game was in Dallas last Wednesday. The team immediately flew home to Denver that night.
