A judge overruled Florida Governor Ron DeSantis‘ executive order banning mask mandates imposed by schools on Friday, saying the governor overstepped his authority by issuing the order.
DeSantis’ executive order left the decision up to a child’s parents to choose whether they should wear a mask or not while attending school amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Leon County Circuit Judge John C. Cooper sided with parents who filed a lawsuit, claiming the order was unconstitutional.
