Jim Edmonds believes it “hasn’t been a great 2020 yet.”
The former MLB star revealed on his Instagram Stories on Wednesday that he got a gash in his forehead, less than a week after testing positive for coronavirus.
“Ouch. Already ugly enough,” the 49-year-old captioned a selfie that showed the bloody injury. “Just 12 more stitches for this body.”
He captioned another close-up shot of the mark, “Hasn’t been a great 2020 yet!”
The former Saint Louis Cardinals player said he got hurt by getting into a “fight with the glass shower door,” adding that it “was open when it wasn’t supposed to be in the dark.”
A rep for Edmonds could not immediately be reached for comment.
The father of seven has also been battling COVID-19 and pneumonia over the past few weeks.
“I must have had it for a while before I got tested,” Edmonds said in an Instagram video. “Thank God I quarantined myself and listened to what everyone said and kept our curve at our house flattened.”
Meanwhile, his ex-wife Meghan King Edmonds is looking after their three young children, Aspen, 3, and sons Hayes and Hart, 2.
A rep for Edmonds previously told us he was “livid” that Meghan would travel with small kids from California to St. Louis “during this health crisis and put them at risk.”
However, the “Real Housewives of Orange County” star’s rep told us in response that there was “no violation whatsoever” to their temporary custody agreement.
The rep added, “Meghan’s first and only priority has and always will be keeping her children safe. She is confused why Jim’s camp would blow up a non-story that he was completely aware when he is supposedly on his death bed after prolifically posting about his COVID-19 test on Instagram.”
