Another Yankee has tested positive for COVID-19.

Gary Sanchez is out of Thursday night’s game against the Mariners after his rapid test came back positive for the coronavirus, Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters.

Boone said Sanchez was sent for the test because he was experiencing symptoms after Wednesday night’s game and still was not feeling well Thursday morning. The Yankees are awaiting the results of a PCR test later Thursday night.

Sanchez is the third Yankee in the past week to test positive for COVID-19. Pitchers Gerrit Cole and Jordan Montgomery are the others.

The Yankees do not expect anyone else to be unavailable due to contact tracing.
