A coalition of public defenders brought the suit on behalf of 10 detainees with health problems such as asthma, diabetes, obesity, severe pneumonia and heart disease, among other ailments. They were held at ICE jails in Bergen, Essex and Hudson Counties. At least one staffer or detainee at all three jails has tested positive for coronavirus.
