Perhaps due in part to the fact that the field is dominated by women and our society is inherently sexist, to many, educators are inept, their jobs far too easy. And so, the philosophy has predominated: “those who can, do, and those who can’t, teach,” implying that our entire field was occupied either by failures or those too lazy to achieve.
