The 70-year-old post-punk pioneer, whose band is easily recognized by the plant pots they sometimes wear as hats, told the Los Angeles Times that his recent bout with the deadly virus reduced him to delusions he called “very dark.” That included one psychological episode that had Mothersbaugh convinced he’d been jumped by kids who sold him to an ambulance company because they were being paid for rounding up people infected by coronavirus.
