Denver police seek 3 masked suspects, getaway car tied to
arson fire that killed 5 in Green Valley Ranch 1

Denver police are searching for three masked suspects who they believe intentionally set a Green Valley Ranch home on fire earlier this month — killing five members of a Senegalese family — before fleeing in a dark-colored, four-door sedan.

Police on Tuesday evening released photos of the suspects, who wore full white masks over their faces and dark hoods, as well the suspected getaway vehicle. A $14,000 reward previously had been issued for information related to the fatal arson fire.

The fire at 5312 N. Truckee St., around 2:30 a.m. Aug. 5, killed Djibril Diol, his wife, Adja Diol, and their 3-year-old daughter, Kadidia Diol, as well as Djibril Diol’s sister, Hassan Diol, and her infant daughter, Hawa Beye.

Responding firefighters were unable to save the family members inside the home, but three other people who’d been living in the house jumped from the second floor and survived.

Denver police announced that morning that they believed the fire had been intentionally set and would be investigated as a homicide, but have not publicly detailed what evidence led them to that conclusion.

Anyone with information about the fire, the people in the photograph or the vehicle is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at at 720-913-7867.
