Researchers at University College London studied neurological symptoms in 43 people, aged 16 through 85, who had been treated at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and at the college’s hospitals for either confirmed or suspected COVID-19 and found brain dysfunction with delirium in 10 cases, brain inflammation in 12, stroke in eight, and nerve damage such as Guillain-Barré syndrome in eight others.
