Four fighter jets from the California Air National Guard will perform a flyover over medical facilities throughout the state Wednesday morning in salute to the health care workers, first responders and others battling the COVID-19 pandemic on the front lines.

The four F-15C Eagle fighter jets will begin their flyover at 10 a.m. The jets will fly over the medical facilities in Richmond and Oakland around 10:43 a.m.; in San Jose at 10:56 a.m.; and in Monterey at 11:04 a.m.

Medical facilities in Sacramento, Merced, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Bakersfield, Clovis, Reedley, Selma and Madera also will hear the jets.

The pilots fly out of the 144th Fighter Wing in Fresno. According to spokesman Senior Master Sgt. Chris Drudge, the pilots plan to do a low pass at several locations, including the state Capitol building, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services; and the California HIghway Patrol Academy.

That flyover is scheduled to happen at 10:31 a.m.

The California Military Department is urging viewers to tag the flyover on social media with photos and videos, using the hashtags #144FW, #AmericaStrong and #CalGuard.
