Chris Rock was enjoying a night out in New York City one day before he revealed his COVID-19 diagnosis – and he wasn’t wearing a face mask.
Paparazzi caught the Brooklyn-bred comedian, 56, walking the streets of Manhattan with a small group of friends on Sept. 18. The vaccinated star appeared to be in good spirits, smiling to cameras in a few of the pics.

Rock sported an all-black outfit from head to ankles, throwing on a pair of white sneakers to complete the casual look.
He also wore eyeglasses and a New York Mets baseball cap, and kept a set of headphones around his neck throughout the night.

The stand-up comedian eventually sat down for a meal with his crew, exchanging laughs as they dined at the outdoor eatery.
After finishing their meal, the group hit the streets once again to take in a lovely fall evening in the Big Apple.

Despite being vaccinated, Rock revealed via Twitter on Sept. 19 that he tested positive for COVID-19.
“Hey guys I just found out I have COVID, trust me you don’t want this,” he tweeted. “Get vaccinated.”
Rock joked about “cutting the line” to receive the vaccine back in May during his appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
“I’m two-shots Rock, that’s what they call me,” the “Tamborine” comedian quipped, before specifying he received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which is a single-dose jab. “That’s the food stamps of vaccines.”
“I skipped the line. I didn’t care. I used my celebrity,” he added. “I was like, ‘Step aside, Betty White. Step aside, old people. … I did ‘Pootie Tang.’ Let me on the front of the line.’”
