The motion submitted to the Board of Education to end the CPD contract states the district must “identify ways to holistically support, rather than criminalize, students.” The motion cites a “well-documented history of police misconduct, abuse, violence, and disregard of human dignity and Black life,” along with recent cases of police violence against Black people in the country and locally, which “are in direct conflict with the values of the District.”
