CDC adds six new coronavirus symptoms 1

The symptoms of coronavirus have been updated by the Centers for Disease Control, with the list expanded from three to nine.

For more than a month, the agency’s webpage had listed as symptoms only fever, cough and shortness of breath.

As of this week, it has these as well:

  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell

The revised description also adds “or difficulty breathing” to the shortness-of-breath item.

The site mentions a “wide range of symptoms” that can appear two to 14 days after exposure. It advises seeking immediate medical attention if you experience trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, bluish lips or face, or new confusion or inability to arouse — but it adds that the list is not comprehensive.
