coronavirus front line 1

The brute who tried to rape an upstate nurse who came to the city to help with the coronavirus outbreak was arrested and charged Monday night for the vicious crime, police said.

Jason Roberts, 35, of the Bronx, allegedly attacked the 32-year-old woman on Friday night after following her inside a Manhattan apartment building on 149th Street and Broadway, the NYPD and police sources have said.

Roberts allegedly punched the victim in the face and tried to tear off her pants, but was fended off by the brave healthcare worker.

Roberts fled with the woman’s cellphone. He was caught by cops Monday and charged with attempted rape, robbery and burglary, authorities said.

The woman was bruised, but refused medical attention.

More than 90,000 retired and active health care workers have signed up to volunteer in the Empire State, including at least 21,000 from outside New York, the governor’s office said last month.
