Shortly after the death of George Floyd, who was killed by a Minneapolis police officer who kept his knee on Floyd’s neck for about nine minutes, artist David Ross painted the mural. It has since acted as a center for memorial services in honor of Floyd as protests against his death continued throughout the nation.
