Texas, Ohio ban abortions during coronavirus pandemic 1

Ohio announced their ban on Saturday, when the state’s Attorney General sent a letter to two clinics ordering them to stop abortions in order to preserve medical resources. Using similar reasoning, Texas’s AG put out a statement on Monday warning that any abortion providers who violate Gov. Greg Abbott’s executive order “will be met with the full force of the law.” Those penalties could include a $1,000 fine or 180 days in jail.
