A suspect has been arrested in the shooting of a Colorado Springs police officer.

Jacob Aaron Sedillo, 25, was arrested Tuesday in a residence in the 600 block of Superior Street, Colorado Springs, police said. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the El Paso County jail on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder.

Local and federal law enforcement, including the U.S. Secret Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, took part in the arrest.

The officer was shot in the arm Friday night after contacting two motorcycle riders in a parking lot at 3010 N. Nevada Ave., police said. The officer was taken to a hospital in a “stable” condition.

One of the two motorcycle riders remained on the scene after the shooting and the other fled. The officer who was shot did not return fire.
