In January 1945, the German commander at Fox’s POW camp planned to separate Jews from other allied prisoners. The highest-ranking U.S. detainee, Master Sgt. Roderick Edmonds, had all 1,000 U.S. soldiers report and told the Nazis, “We are all Jews here,” saving the lives of 200 people, including Fox.
