Shawn Johnson is grateful for the routine she and husband Andrew East developed in quarantine.

The Olympic gymnast told Page Six that she and the NFL long snapper have savored the moments at home watching their 7-month-old daughter Drew grow.

“Every single day, my husband will take our daughter for an hour or two, and I’ll have my time to go work out, and just have alone time. Then as soon as I’m done, we switch, and then it’s his turn,” said Johnson, who welcomed her first child in October.

“It’s been awesome. A great way for us to kind of mix up the day and get some space and stay healthy.”

While staying fit during the coronavirus pandemic has been a priority for Johnson, she has also been spending time working on her limited-edition capsule collection with Vera Bradley. The bags, priced from $30 to $140, are made from recycled water bottles with purchases supporting Blessings in a Backpack.

“I am obsessed with pockets, I can never have enough pockets in a bag,” Johnson said of the ReActive Ditty bag and Deluxe tote.

Though the current circumstances have kept Johnson and East, both 28, close to home, they’ve enjoyed the change of pace.

“I think what I’ve appreciated is, usually us as a family, we’re always going a hundred miles an hour, so we’re traveling every week throughout the month, constantly doing something new, and we never have time to really be at home, so this is kind of a new thing for us, and it’s been awesome being able to have family time every day,” said Johnson.

As for where Johnson would like to travel next once restrictions are lifted, an “exotic” locale would be a preferred destination.

“My husband and I talk about this almost every single day cause we love to travel so much,” Johnson said.

“A bucket list item of ours has always been to go to some exotic [place], whether it’s the Maldives or Australia or something crazy. And whenever it’s safe, I think this is going to be the time we do it just because it’s been a big year for the entire world, and I think we just want to celebrate the light at the end of the tunnel,” she added.

Johnson has traveled the globe as a former Olympic gymnast. During the 2008 games in Beijing, she won the gold medal for her performance on the balance beam, in addition to a silver medal for her floor program. The United States also scooped up two silver medals for the team and all-around program.
