Ravens defensive lineman Calais Campbell, cornerback Anthony Averett and defensive back Anthony Levine Sr. returned Thursday to practice, where the Ravens had encouraging attendance ahead of Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

Just five Ravens were absent for the open portion of the workout. Right tackle Patrick Mekari (hand), fullback Patrick Ricard (back) and tight end Nick Boyle (illness/knee) were out for the second straight day, while left tackle Alejandro Villanueva and defensive tackle Brandon Williams received a day off to rest. Mekari is not expected to play this week.

Campbell (illness) and Averett (knee) missed Wednesday’s workout, along with Levine (knee), who jogged off the field early in Thursday’s practice. Averett and Levine were limited participants Thursday, while fellow cornerback Chris Westry (thigh) practiced fully again.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Miles Boykin (finger) and defensive backs Kevon Seymour (illness) and Brandon Stephens (shoulder) were limited for the second straight day.

In Cleveland, the Browns placed starting inside linebacker Anthony Walker Jr., the team’s leading tackler, and starting punter Jamie Gillan on the reserve/COVID-19 Thursday. Starting tight end David Njoku, the team’s leading receiver, was placed on the list Tuesday. Their availability for Sunday’s game is unclear.

Tight end Harrison Bryant (ankle), defensive tackle Malik Jackson (knee) and wide receiver Anthony Schwartz (concussion) did not practice for the second straight day. Starting center JC Tretter did not practice after being limited Wednesday, while defensive tackle Jordan Elliott (knee) and safety Ronnie Harrison (ankle) were limited.
