Psycho Donuts reopens (with free doughnuts) after long coronavirus-era closure

Psycho Donuts reopens (with free doughnuts) after long
coronavirus-era closure 1

If you’ve been driving past the shuttered Psycho Donuts in Campbell with a forlorn look on your face, perk up.

The South Bay bakers of irreverently named doughnuts are back, and they will be welcoming customers with freebies.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, Saturday, Sunday or on Sept. 4-5-6, customers may stop by for a free doughnut. (Today’s will be the Jekyll & Hyde, with its dueling personalities.)

To take advantage of the offer, go to PsychoDonuts.com and sign up for the newsletter. It’s one per person per email. If you show up and haven’t signed up, they’ll have a QR code quick link so you can do so onsite.

Psycho’s official reopening date after this soft opening is still to be determined. But spokesperson Jay Sanchez said the shop will launch with 20 fan favorites and then work up to the full list, which includes the Dead Elvis (bananas, peanut butter, bacon); the Marla (a maple bar); the Cereal Killer (ultra-sweet and crunchy); and the Headbanger (don’t ask).

A new doughnut will be ready for the relaunch, and Sanchez said the “Halloween Dozen” will return for the upcoming holiday.
