Crowds of protesters were outside of the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday morning, before the court was set to hear arguments in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, which is considered to be one of the biggest legal challenges to abortion rights since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.
In a video posted to Twitter by Craig Ford of Mississippi’s WTVA news, hundreds of protesters were seen gathering outside the Supreme Court.
“The crowd outside the United States Supreme Court has grown significantly since our arrival this morning,” Ford wrote in the tweet.
A few hours earlier, Ford posted an image of the Supreme Court, with far fewer protesters seen outside.

The protesters outside of the Supreme Court on Wednesday included representation from both pro-abortion and anti-abortion protesters.
The Women’s March organization, a pro-abortion rights group, said on Tuesday night that they planned to encircle the Supreme Court to “To make our resistance heard.”
“Abortion access is on the line. SCOTUS starts reviewing Dobbs v. JWHO, a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade,” the Women’s March organization said in a tweet.
Tomorrow, we’re encircling SCOTUS to make our resistance heard.

On the other side of the abortion debate, March for Life’s Twitter account shared numerous photos of their own supporters outside of the Supreme Court.
“Today is a historic day in our nation’s history. #SCOTUS will be hearing the oral arguments of #DobbsvJackson in just a few moments as thousands of pro-life Americans rally outside,” March for Life wrote in a tweet.
