Nuggets’ season, Ball Arena to open without fans

Nuggets’ season, Ball Arena to open without fans 1

So much for a party.

When Ball Arena opens later this month, the Nuggets informed season ticket holders on Tuesday that there will be no fans in attendance due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“Due to the current state and local guidelines, we will not be able to host fans at Ball Arena at this time,” an email sent to season ticket holders on Tuesday morning read.

“The Denver Nuggets along with Kroenke Sports and Entertainment will continue to work closely with state and local authorities to navigate the safest return to hosting fans in Ball Arena,” the email stated.

As for fans’ season-ticket deposits, the email said all 2020-21 full-season payments will “automatically be applied to the 2021-22 season.”

Season-ticket holders for this upcoming season will receive priority for games this season and for the playoffs, if in-person attendance becomes possible.

Nuggets training camp opened Tuesday morning, with players like Michael Porter Jr., P.J. Dozier, and rookies R.J. Hampton and Zeke Nnaji making it to the gym for individual workouts. Team workouts won’t begin until Dec. 6, about two weeks before the start of the season.
