Jets set to have initial coronavirus tests 1

The Jets will take another step toward starting training camp Friday.

Rookies, quarterbacks and injured players will all have their initial COVID-19 tests at the team’s training center. They then will be tested again on Monday. If they test negative twice they will be allowed inside the building on Tuesday.

Players are fighting for an extended acclimation period to begin training camp before actual practices start.

The team also signed third-round pick safety Ashtyn Davis on Thursday. It is a four-year, $4.9 million deal. The Jets now have their entire draft class under contract.
