Bravo has paused production on Season 2 of “Family Karma” after a cast member tested positive for coronavirus, Page Six has learned.
A source close to production exclusively told Page Six that there are “rigorous safety protocols” in place for all shows, including “contact tracing,” which is why they were able to find out that someone on the cast contracted COVID-19.
“Production was shut down immediately as an abundance of caution,” the source added.
We’re told production on “Family Karma” will be shut down for about two weeks, and everyone who is part of production will have to be retested when they return.
The name of the cast member infected was not disclosed for legal reasons.
In October, Page Six exclusively revealed that the Bravo show had started filming again in Miami, which has been a hotspot for COVID-19 amid the pandemic.
According to local news outlets, Florida reported 4,651 new cases and surpassed 17,000 deaths due to the coronavirus on Monday.
As of Friday, “Family Karma” was still filming in downtown Miami. Three cast members — Amrit Kapai, Baili Chainani, and Chainani’s daughter, Anushka Rajani — were spotted in costume for what appeared to be a Halloween-themed episode.
It is unclear how soon after that shoot production was called off.
